- On the website, Become a Karat driver → your name, email, date of birth and a password → tick the terms and privacy notice → create the account.
- You land on Onboarding (Get ready to drive). Work down the list; each step shows a tick when it's done:
- Personal details: nationality, address, emergency contact, height and weight (for seat fit and suit sizes), your home region → Save and continue.
- Verify your ID: a quick photo check of your passport or driving licence with Stripe, our payments partner. Under 18? Your guardian verifies instead (see "Under-18s and guardians").
- Licence & documents: add your race licence (type and expiry) and any other documents asked for.
- Sign your declarations: read and sign each one on screen.
- Online training: short videos, each with a quiz. You need the pass mark to finish a module.
- Seat fit: book a fitting for the seat used by the cars you want to drive.
- When every step is ticked you're ready to book. Your Dashboard shows your next day, credits and progress.
You can leave and come back at any time: everything you've done is saved.
