How it works
From sign-up to lap data
- 01
Join and get ready
Create your account, verify your ID, complete the short online training and sign your declarations once. Then book a seat fit for the cars you want to drive. Under 18? A parent or guardian joins with you.
- 02
Book your day
Choose the car, the circuit and the date. The price you see includes the car and new tyres; add coaching, extra tyres, a photographer or kit hire if you want them.
- 03
Turn up and drive
Your engineer and mechanic have the car ready and talk you through the plan. You focus on driving; they look after the car, the timing and the data.
- 04
Review your data
Session video, lap times, telemetry and your engineer's notes appear in your account after the day, so you can see exactly where the time is.

Questions
Before you book
How do you keep test days safe?
Before your first day you verify your ID, complete Karat's online training (each module ends with a short quiz) and sign the declarations for your region and category. You're seat-fitted to the car before you drive it. On the day, your engineer briefs you on the plan, and your mechanic checks the car out before you drive and back in at the end of the day; any damage is fixed before the car runs again. You'll also need approved race kit, which you can hire from us.
Do I need a race licence?
It depends on the car and the circuit. Add your licence (type and expiry) during onboarding and we check it. If a car you want needs a licence you don't have yet, tell us and we'll help you find the right route.
Can under-18s drive?
Yes. When a driver under 18 signs up, they invite a parent or guardian by email. The guardian verifies their own ID, signs the declarations, and approves and pays for every booking from their account. We also check the young driver's passport or race licence. Guardians see the same days, data and video as the driver.
What happens if it rains?
Most test days run in the wet: it's valuable practice, and extra tyres can be added to your booking. If Karat calls a day off because of the weather, a track closure or a car fault, you choose a full refund or a free move to another date.
Can I move or cancel a booking?
Yes, from your booking page. Any fee depends on how much notice you give, and the exact amounts are set out in our cancellation policy. You see what you'd pay or get back before you confirm.
What should I bring?
Your booking page has a checklist for that day. Usually that means your race kit (helmet, FHR device, suit, boots and gloves, or hire what you need from us), your licence if the car needs one, ID, and comfortable clothes for the paddock. Your arrival time, the circuit map and your team's contact details are on the same page.
What data and video do I get, and who can see it?
After the day your account shows each session's lap times, video, telemetry files, photos and your data engineer's notes. You can watch and download them for 90 days after the test day. Only you, your guardian if you're under 18, and the Karat staff working with you can see them.
What is a seat fit and why do I need one?
A seat fit shapes the seat to you so you can drive comfortably and safely. It's a one-off cost for each seat type: once you're fitted, every car that uses that seat is ready for you. You book it during onboarding, and the booking screen tells you if a car needs a fit you haven't had yet.
How do day packs and credits work?
Buy a pack of days in advance and each day is held as a credit. When you book, one credit covers the base package (the car and new tyres); extras are paid as normal. Category packs work on that category only. If you cancel a booking paid with a credit, the credit goes back into your pack, less any cancellation fee.
Can I bring my own car?
Yes. Register it under My own car in your account, with photos, its series and its seat type. We check it, then set up test days for it on dates that suit you. Instead of a car and tyres, your base package is Karat's support package: an engineer, a mechanic, a pit garage, timing and data.
How long do gift vouchers last?
A gift voucher is valid for 12 months from the day it's bought, and the expiry date is printed on it. Amount vouchers keep any unspent balance until then, and you can extend or top up a voucher from the gift voucher page where that option is offered.
Can a gift voucher be used on a different experience?
An amount voucher can be spent on any Karat experience, in its currency, and any balance stays on the code. An experience voucher is for the experience it names, on any date that experience runs. Vouchers have no cash value; if you'd like to change an experience voucher, contact us before you book.
